Clubs:

Three Flying Clubs operate from West Auckland Airport (Parakai): the 'Parakai Aviation Club' (PAC), the 'Northland Microlight Club' (NMC) and the 'Auckland Regional Microlight Aircraft Club' (ARMAC).

Most of the ARMAC members fly the 'back to basics' aircraft with open cockpits and 'rag and tube' construction, the NMC members tend to aluminium/composite enclosed aircraft. PAC is for all those using West Auckland, or interested in aviation.

Fly-Ins & other Aviation Events: The airport is happy to assist Aviation Clubs or other Clubs wanting a venue to hold events, so long as they are well organised, see Fly-in Planning Notes. The airport has various levels of facility and buildings available depending on the type of event. The Airport Operator will provide a clean and tidy facility for the event, and wants it in the same condition afterwards, and to be covered for the direct costs (rubbish removal etc) of staging the event. For aviation events, the organising club can have the landings fees at half rate if they collect these from the visiting aircraft and pay the airport in bulk, or if they prefer the airport will collect them at the usual rates.

During Club fly-ins the landing fee is $4.35 + gst = $5 for one day's landings by visiting aircraft, if these are all collected by the club and paid to the airport in bulk.

Club Facilities: The airport has a clubrooms building with kitchen, toilets, shower, flight planning room and members lounge. The airport Courtesy Car is available for visiting aviators (if you wish to book the car in advance phone Simon, 021 354 548). The Hall is available for events that are too large for the clubrooms to handle.
